Join me for an advanced inclusive leadership course Tuesdays in July. Learn more about it below.
What you'll learn
You’ll learn how to make a difference no matter what your role is; how to find stability when things get rocky; how to respond effectively to weird, suprising, or offensive statements and policies; how to become a source of trust; and how to redirect attention to create new solutions.
How it works
We’ll meet 4 times, one hour a week, and cover fundamental concepts that will help you engage more confidently in your work. Each week, you’ll be asked to review a hypothetical case study, reflecting on it in either written or oral form so that you become more aware of the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that impact your leadership.
Why this class is different
In this class, your self-focus is encouraged, honored, real, and beneficial. You aren’t asked to be a star student, told that you got something wrong, or judged for how much you contribute. You get to decide how much you engage. Your challenges get to be seen. And then you get to decide how to apply what you’ve learned.
Why it works
We know that people learn, grow in confidence, and change their habits based on experience. In this class, there are no rules to memorize, just connections to make. You’ll feel seen and notice things you hadn’t seen before. And you’ll be in the driver’s seat the whole time—deciding what extra resources to explore, when and how.
About Me
I am the co-owner and founder of Sagely. I hold a doctorate from Duke University, where I focused on storytelling and abolitionist movements. I am a consultant and educator, using a trauma-informed lens to enhance leaders’ capacity to encourage collaboration and stability. This course is adapted from one I created for the UNC Graduate School’s certificate in Leadership, Innovation, and Management.
